What is CarePortal?
CarePortal is a care-sharing technology platform that accelerates ministries and individuals in serving vulnerable children and families.
Child-serving professionals share needs on behalf of the families they serve, and local churches, along with businesses and advocates in the surrounding community, are alerted to respond in real-time with resources to maintain, reunite, or connect kids with family.

Who does CarePortal serve?
CarePortal exists to help vulnerable children and families.
Requests submitted through CarePortal come from caseworkers at government child welfare agencies or other child-serving organizations approved by CarePortal to vet needs. Churches can also identify and submit needs within their own church and community through the Church Entered Needs feature.
The CarePortal Idaho Story
a note from our Executive Director, Shawn Huntington:
After 14 years in the classroom, I was feeling strongly called to do something new. An amazing opportunity presented itself, and I haven’t been this excited in a long time. I am now the executive director of Care Portal Idaho, a care-share technology that allows churches and individuals to connect with children and families in crisis. Here’s how it works: Vetted needs enter the portal, where churches and individuals then have the ability to see and fulfill those needs.
It’s so simple and yet incredibly powerful. And the amazing thing is that every dollar invested in the portal will result in a 10 fold increase in the community. We know there are so many people in need in our valley, but we also know that there are so many of you who want to help.
Care Portal allows neighbors to engage with neighbors and provide for tangible needs, but it also fosters connection between all of us- which is something I am passionate about and am excited to offer in this new position.
